- Read UO Outlands Forums and refer to FAQ to develop a basic understanding of animal taming on UO Outlands.
- Setup the Razor taming script (refer to the Auto Tame Script tab).
- Choose a character template that fits your desired style of play (veterinary skill is required to use the script).

The path of an animal tamer is a long, oft times frustrating one, but with the ability to control creatures, becoming an animal tamer is a lucrative profession if given the time and patience it needs to be raised and mastered.
Here are a few tips to understand before you begin your journey.
- Taming a creature requires both the animal taming and animal lore skills.
- You must stand within three tiles of the creature to begin taming it, and within six tiles to continue taming. (Patched 2020)
- You do NOT need to feed pets to keep their loyalty up... they are self-sufficient.
- Taming skill gain cannot occur whilst standing within a house, creatures can be tamed however. (Patched 2019)
- Tamed creatures who are teleported (via tecall/hate/moongate) will default to "follow" mode.
